The warmer months mean vacations and other distractions, but they also could offer a few ways to get ahead professionally.

Summer dragging is not a new thing. when Korn Ferry asked professionals about summer work, 46% said that the quality of their work slumps in the summer. But this year it’s pretty clear that the motivation of many people to work is pretty low right now. AI, inflation, and the world’s other stresses have employee sentiment at historic lows, and that’s even before the annual thoughts of beach vacations and cookouts are on the minds distract entry-level employees, corporate bosses, and the workers in between. That decline in focus can be a drag—not only on an company’s productivity, but also on an employee’s career.
